Some Ding Dang Awesome Pictures

Okay, so I've posted an introduction, an article summary, and some fun facts. All that's left now is some super cool pictures! This will be fun. Mwahahahahahah! Now that I have my evil moment out, let's get to the pictures!

Snakey! Wow, those stripes make me dizzy

I think this  guy is kind of cute. Like a sea slug puppy!

Wow, spikey. I wonder how he gets a massage.

Believe it or not, this is a real sea slug!

Well, I highly doubt this guy is the most popular,
seeing as he eats all the fishies.
I don't think I own any clothes as bright as this fish!
All of these pictures were taken off of Google Images

Very Fun Facts!

Hi again! I thought you peoples may want some more coral reef in your life so, I'm back with some fun facts about coral reefs. I'm extra excited about this post, I guess I'm just extra bubbly today! Ok! Here come the fun facts!!!!!

1. Coral reefs cover only 1% of the worlds ocean, but over 25% of the oceans fish live in coral reefs. Thats a lot of fish!

2. About ten million bacteria (Icky germs, or, thats what most of them are.) live on a single coral reef. Wow!

3. (If you like Florida, you might like this one.) If coral reefs didn't exsist, then parts of Florida might be underwater! I don't think Florida people would like that very much. Lol.

4. (I find this one mildly shocking.) Pacific coral reefs contain more species of fishes, plants and corals than Caribbean coral reefs do! Who knew, right?!

Well, that's all I've got right now. If you want more fun facts, go to:

An Ocean Article

Hey again! It's me. I have looked up a few ocean related events and found one very interesting article. The article said that last Wednesday, Italian divers found eight more bodies in the shipwreck off the coast of Goglio. The ship, called The Concordia,  hit a coral reef  off the coast of the Tuscan island Goglio on January 13. The ship was carrying 4,200 passengers, and so far, the death toll, including those missing and the bodies found stands at 32. The captain, and many of the Concordia's officials are under investigation for attempted manslaughter. The captain had abandoned his ship while the crew and passengers were still on board. Afterward, he denies ever leaving the ship and claimed that the coral reef was not on his maps, though the local fishermen said that the spot was well known and on tourist maps.

Here's where I got the article:
D'emilio, Frances. "Italy: Divers find 8 more bodies in ship wreckage ." msnbc.com. msn, 2012. Web. 24 Feb. 2012. <http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/46480877#.T0fbuVHN1qA>.

And here is a picture of the ship.

Introduction

I created this blog to share information about coral reefs. I love the ocean with passion and love to share my knowledge. I will try to post fun facts, stories and news concerning coral reefs about once or twice a week.
Ever since I was a little kid, I loved water and the beach. I would constantly drag my parents down to the beach when we were on vacation to explore tide pools. Now I am constantly reading about the ocean and running on the beach whenever I get the chance.
I am very excited to write this blog and I hope people find it interesting.
